Google Rankings Checker Tool

We have discovered a great way of checking your rankings in Google

If you want to know where you appear in the the top 100 of Google for a specific keyword just follow the Google Rankings Checker Tool instructions below.

  1. Go to http://www.google.co.uk/ and underneath the Google logo you will find an input box with 2 buttons below it (Google Search and I’m feeling lucky) for clarity’s sake we shall call this a  Search Box
  2. Enter in to the  Search Box the Keyword that you want to see where your website appears for in Google.
  3. Click on the button that says Google Search
  4. You should notice that this opens a new page that displays the top 10 rankings for the Keyword you have just searched for.
  5. Look closely at the green text under the title of the first listing and you will notice it is a website address, is this your website address?
  6. If it is your website, congratulations you have used The Google Ranking Checker and found where your website is ranked.
  7. If the website in the green text under the title of the first listing is not yours, look closely at the the green text under the title of the 2nd listing.
  8. If it is your website, congratulations you have used The Google Ranking Checker and found where your website is ranked.
  9. If the green text under the title of the 2nd  listing isn’t yours repeat this procedure on results 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
  10. If you cannot see your website in the green text under the title of results 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 it means the Google Rankings Checker has not found your website in the Google Top 10 for the keyword you have entered.

Do not despair, just because the Google Rankings Checker has not found the position of your website for the Keyword you have selected in Google, it does not mean you are not using it correctly, or that it is not working.

Simply go to page 2 of the google results for the keyword you are using the Google Ranking Checker Tool to check what position you are in, and repeat the instructions 5, 6, 7, 8 above, but this time looking at results 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20

If you still cannot see your website address in the green text under the title of the results on page 2, repeat the instructions on page 3, then page 4, then page 5 then page 6, then page 7, then page 8, then page 9, and lastly page 10.

If you have closely followed all of the instructions above, and the Google Rankings Checker Tool has not found the your website address in the green text under the title of the top 10 SERPs when searching for the specific keyword that you are checking to see what position you are – Get a better SEO.

Update 26/08/2011

An unnamed website marketing expert has pointed out to us that if you want to check the top 100 Google rankings you can set the number of results displayed on the Google page to 100 instead of 10 and therefore elininating the need to go to pages 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and 10.

He says this is a handy trick to know as he often tells his clients they only have to pay when they are on page 1

If they moan when he sends them an invoice he points out that they are on page 1 of Google (even if only down in the 90’s) and to pay up.
