Traffic Light System Weetabix Cereals
Since having an operation for jaw cancer last year I have been struggling to eat and found Weetabix a godsend.
After spending a couple of month being tub fed via a PEG, Weetabix was one of the 1st things I started eating when I could.
Having lost over 6 stone since the start of the year I needed to stop loosing any more and was quite pleased when they bought out the high protein Weetabix.
That was until I read the label
1st of all I looked at the traffic light system and was pleased to see it was all green.
I then compared it with a box of Weetos and was quite surprised to see that;
Weetos with a recommended daily allowance for Fat at 2% was amber but Weetabix with a recommended daily allowance for Fat at 4% was green.
Weetos with a recommended daily allowance for Sugar at 6% was amber but Weetabix with a recommended daily allowance for Sugar at 9% was green.
How does the traffic light system work and why is the higher fat and sugar content one green where as the other is amber?
