Alternative to URL Submission Tool in Google Search Console

I’ve seen a number of people asking if there is an Alternative to the URL Submission Tool in Google Search Console recently and today on Twitter John Mueller posted a google docs document asking

“Let us know about some of the URLs you would have used the URL submission feature in Search Console for. Where should Google be crawling more, or more frequently, so that you don’t have to do as much manual work”

I put a post on UKSBD I’m missing the URL submission tool and would be interested to hear what others say.

Did you regularly use the URL submission tool in Google Search Console, and if so has not having access to it effected you in any way?
